The School Day

School Times for full-time children (Year R to Year 3):

• Morning session: 8.45am - 12 noon
• Lunch Break: 12 noon - 1.15pm
• Afternoon session: 1.15pm - 3.00pm.

The safety and welfare of our pupils is always our first concern, and we request that children do not arrive before 8.35am, and are collected at the end of the day by 3.10pm. A teacher will be in the playground each morning from 8.35am.

Children who arrive late (i.e. after registration at 8.45am) should come into school via the main front door, as the classroom doors are locked once all the children are inside.

Occasionally parents are unable to collect their child at the usual time. Please let us know as quickly as possible.

School Times for part-time children (Foundation Stage):

Children arrive at 8.45am and are collected at 12 noon.

Attendance

If a child is absent from school it is important to let us know as soon as possible by telephoning the school office or to send a letter on his/her return to school. It is also important for us to be informed of any school time appointments that a child must attend.

Lunch Hour

Full-time children need to bring a packed lunch in a named plastic box. If this includes a drink, please send this in a non-breakable container. We have 2 midday supervisors who are part of the team at Padbury. Good behaviour is expected at lunch times and the midday supervisors reward this by giving the children stickers.

Uniform

N.B. the youngest children may find a tie difficult to cope with, and may wear a white shirt/blouse or white polo shirt without tie if preferred.

The following items are required for P.E.:

• Yellow T-shirt*
• Black shorts
• Plimsolls
• P.E. bag*

Optional items:

• Book bag*

Items marked * (featuring the school logo) may be purchased from the school. (See price list below).

Soft footwear is required by all children for indoor use (plimsolls are acceptable), and a sun-hat should be kept at school for wearing during outside activities in sunny weather.

Please ensure that all uniform items are clearly marked with your child’s name.
